Consumer Direct Fulfillment for Vendors (CDF)
Have you thought that it may be more profitable to outsource fulfillment so you can concentrate on development and marketing? Publishers and producers using New Leaf’s CDF service tell us this is the case. They also say that they simply enjoy not having to deal with packing orders.
Here’s how it works:
We do not interact with your customers. You still take orders and handle any customer service issues.
Orders are transmitted to us either directly out of your web shopping cart, or you may key them in using our web tool.
Using Web Shopping Cart - Your shopping cart will need to be programmed to transmit orders to New Leaf electronically. We will provide transmission specs for your programmer. Once this is programmed, everything will be automatic and your system can transmit to us 24/7. Our system will transmit a commitment response within 30 minutes of receipt. After the order is shipped, we will transmit a shipping notification to your system. This will have shipping information including tracking number which can then be made available to your customer.
Using the New Leaf Web Tool - You will be provided with access to the Vendor CDF Portal. Once there you will be able to select from your products carried by New Leaf. Then by using the checkout process you will be able to provide the item and quantity of each item to be shipped and select the method of delivery. There are also options that enable you to review your orders in progress and your completed orders.
All orders are fulfilled from your inventory consigned to New Leaf. A customized packing slip template and shipping label are part of the standard setup. Your packing list may contain your logo or other image and other information such as instructions for returns. There is also a comments field on the packing slip that is under your control. This can be used for an announcement, a brief marketing message, or whatever you wish. Your shipping label will also contain your logo along with your address. New Leaf will be invisible unless you choose to have us handle any returns.
With each order, the shipping method will be designated in your order transmittal. If the order is coming from your web shopping cart, your customer will choose. The following shipping options are available:
- Domestic Standard – New Leaf will use shipping software to determine lowest cost option between USPS Media Mail, USPS First Class, USPS Priority Mail, UPS Ground and FedEx Ground.
- Domestic 2 Days – New Leaf will use shipping software to determine lowest cost option between USPS Priority, UPS 2nd Day and FedEx 2nd Day.
- Domestic Next Day – New Leaf will use shipping software to determine lowest cost option between USPS Express Mail, UPS Next Day and FedEx Next Day.
- International –Client will designate shipping method to New Leaf from among either USPS, UPS or FedEx. Where possible, New Leaf recommends USPS Priority International Flat Rate. Second choice is USPS Priority International. Calculated shipping charges with USPS include all brokerage, duties and taxes. New Leaf will charge Client all brokerage, duty and any taxes as well as shipping. New Leaf shall have no liability for safe
arrivals of international packages unless it can be shown to be due to faulty packing or incorrect items, in which case New Leaf will resend package at its expense.
